Too Subscribe or Not to Subscribe
Currently, I am in love with my monthly art subscription to "Lets Make Art". For $35.00 per subscription, I receive watercolor paper, paints and instructions on painting 4-5 paintings. The kit also includes a blank watercolor postcard, stamped and addressed to a family/person. The idea of the postcard, "lets make art matter," is to paint for someone who could use a little encouragement. I love this part of the kit. And, don't worry if you don't know what to paint. Sarah, owner of Lets make Art, has videos and lIVE facebook paintings to follow along. I have learned so much and get giddy with excitement every time I see a "lets make art" box on my front door. There are many subcriptions in just about any area of interest. So go ahead, and get creative! Here is a sample of some of my watercolor paintings and "Lets make art matter" postcards:

Lately, I've been enjoying watercoloring on my mixed media journal. It's a planner I recycled into a painting journal.

JUST DO IT! Be Creative
Sometimes getting started is the hardest thing to do. There is always something pressing that needs your attention, such as the dishes, laundry, planning of meals (which I never do), catching-up on TV shows- well you get the point. There are also the distractions of Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook that keep us from fulfilling our daily to-do list. I believe it is important to unplug and remove the distractions. I'm sure you believe it too, the question is "do you do it?" "Not enough!" is my response. For me, it is important that I spend some time with God. It usually is in the form of a devotional and prayer every morning. I ask God to give me the strength I need to get thru my day and the ability to carve out some creative time. Lately, I have been taking an online "simply watercolor" class and a "lettering class" (Whatever Lettering). Taking these classes have helped me improve my painting and lettering, but most importantly it has improved my state of mind- YES-I feel more relaxed! So go ahead and remove the distraction and set some time to be creative -"JUST DO IT!" Here is what I have been up to:
