I used recycled materials and paper mache to create him.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cm3-MuN2lEg/XHmsklF5doI/AAAAAAAAAt0/zrErWMK36lc8jC-aNN70kgDDpvuiWBBCACLcBGAs/s1600/mami%2Bphone%2B-oct2018%2B275.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cm3-MuN2lEg/XHmsklF5doI/AAAAAAAAAt0/zrErWMK36lc8jC-aNN70kgDDpvuiWBBCACLcBGAs/s200/mami%2Bphone%2B-oct2018%2B275.JPG" width="150" height="200" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a></div>
Step 1: gather plastic soda bottle, masking tape, styrofoam plates, newspaper, and plastic easter eggs.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0GoGZd9x3eE/XHms-jx80sI/AAAAAAAAAt8/A56OuoD5lvMyy0PuyjM8Awmd7SOe2DhRQCLcBGAs/s1600/mami%2Bphone%2B-oct2018%2B276.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0GoGZd9x3eE/XHms-jx80sI/AAAAAAAAAt8/A56OuoD5lvMyy0PuyjM8Awmd7SOe2DhRQCLcBGAs/s200/mami%2Bphone%2B-oct2018%2B276.JPG" width="150" height="200" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aDjCtWRkSlY/XHmtHcB2l-I/AAAAAAAAAuA/Dx-OW1NlaD0EgZZX7glDQEoANTm-jvRQACLcBGAs/s1600/mami%2Bphone%2B-oct2018%2B279.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aDjCtWRkSlY/XHmtHcB2l-I/AAAAAAAAAuA/Dx-OW1NlaD0EgZZX7glDQEoANTm-jvRQACLcBGAs/s200/mami%2Bphone%2B-oct2018%2B279.JPG" width="150" height="200" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xmFvzHoLJlQ/XHmxx6xIGCI/AAAAAAAAAwA/v3z6IQy48FMGUEVOhjb-4jSs4i6VxL6UQCLcBGAs/s1600/mami%2Bphone%2B-oct2018%2B366.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xmFvzHoLJlQ/XHmxx6xIGCI/AAAAAAAAAwA/v3z6IQy48FMGUEVOhjb-4jSs4i6VxL6UQCLcBGAs/s200/mami%2Bphone%2B-oct2018%2B366.JPG" width="150" height="200" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a></div>
Step 2: Crumble newspaper and place on bottles with lots of masking tape. Trace two elf ears from styrofoam plates and attach to head. I also attached the plastic easter eggs for eyes. Shape head and ears as needed by adding more newspaper and masking tape.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GExE_q9S_yw/XHmumm64GLI/AAAAAAAAAuM/BgsbyLkBaRgKMgsWzudYZNotxh68qcykACLcBGAs/s1600/mami%2Bphone%2Boct%2B2018%2B006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GExE_q9S_yw/XHmumm64GLI/AAAAAAAAAuM/BgsbyLkBaRgKMgsWzudYZNotxh68qcykACLcBGAs/s200/mami%2Bphone%2Boct%2B2018%2B006.JPG" width="150" height="200" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a></div>
Step 3: I added some pvc pipe for the legs and tried to make him at least 3 ft. I traced my foot and cut out feet from styrofoam.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-06xfNYANW9Y/XHmu-HLZB2I/AAAAAAAAAug/QGxs-vag52kSYI9g-OnZPg4bVuYjGngLACLcBGAs/s1600/mami%2Bphone%2Boct%2B2018%2B010.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-06xfNYANW9Y/XHmu-HLZB2I/AAAAAAAAAug/QGxs-vag52kSYI9g-OnZPg4bVuYjGngLACLcBGAs/s200/mami%2Bphone%2Boct%2B2018%2B010.JPG" width="150" height="200" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MnoT3Wiws78/XHmvGfwRFfI/AAAAAAAAAuo/-cjZfHZdFLAy8YiwNPspNIlc2jyiYT3vgCLcBGAs/s1600/mami%2Bphone%2Boct%2B2018%2B032.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MnoT3Wiws78/XHmvGfwRFfI/AAAAAAAAAuo/-cjZfHZdFLAy8YiwNPspNIlc2jyiYT3vgCLcBGAs/s200/mami%2Bphone%2Boct%2B2018%2B032.JPG" width="150" height="200" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-49FiYk1MaE0/XHmvGIeKKqI/AAAAAAAAAuk/lFS6f2ksw2cJ5L46gWbBRLQIST3Jg6OkwCLcBGAs/s1600/mami%2Bphone%2Boct%2B2018%2B033.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-49FiYk1MaE0/XHmvGIeKKqI/AAAAAAAAAuk/lFS6f2ksw2cJ5L46gWbBRLQIST3Jg6OkwCLcBGAs/s200/mami%2Bphone%2Boct%2B2018%2B033.JPG" width="150" height="200" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KUE7ol7BOGI/XHmvGUFyHiI/AAAAAAAAAus/a8RbSZsK8jAcSlz63pMz2ucR5OIcsq5ggCLcBGAs/s1600/mami%2Bphone%2Boct%2B2018%2B034.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KUE7ol7BOGI/XHmvGUFyHiI/AAAAAAAAAus/a8RbSZsK8jAcSlz63pMz2ucR5OIcsq5ggCLcBGAs/s200/mami%2Bphone%2Boct%2B2018%2B034.JPG" width="150" height="200" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pyxv98GnNG8/XHmvHT4fJHI/AAAAAAAAAuw/lu95R6r2HjscPI422_OE_sTZnOnmanh7QCLcBGAs/s1600/mami%2Bphone%2Boct%2B2018%2B035.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pyxv98GnNG8/XHmvHT4fJHI/AAAAAAAAAuw/lu95R6r2HjscPI422_OE_sTZnOnmanh7QCLcBGAs/s200/mami%2Bphone%2Boct%2B2018%2B035.JPG" width="150" height="200" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a></div>
Step 4: To make it easier to work with, I attached him to a piece of styrofoam. It wasn't very sturdy, but it helped with keeping him upright. I added more newspapers and shaped his feet. His arms were made with wire. Once the skeletal part of the body is assembled, all you need to do is add newspaper and masking tape to shape body.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-HJ33NM8yHbI/XHmwKMvtcvI/AAAAAAAAAvM/Sc5evh5lldsTbqiVhHuTSgeMx12h6rSgACLcBGAs/s1600/mami%2Bphone%2Boct%2B2018%2B036.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-HJ33NM8yHbI/XHmwKMvtcvI/AAAAAAAAAvM/Sc5evh5lldsTbqiVhHuTSgeMx12h6rSgACLcBGAs/s200/mami%2Bphone%2Boct%2B2018%2B036.JPG" width="150" height="200" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-HEdqO73Tmh4/XHmwKKXYQSI/AAAAAAAAAvQ/ZJlqIIVAHK856V-Jr6KnNMWlFjx1bqxNgCLcBGAs/s1600/mami%2Bphone%2Boct%2B2018%2B037.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-HEdqO73Tmh4/XHmwKKXYQSI/AAAAAAAAAvQ/ZJlqIIVAHK856V-Jr6KnNMWlFjx1bqxNgCLcBGAs/s200/mami%2Bphone%2Boct%2B2018%2B037.JPG" width="150" height="200" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a></div>
Step 5: Arms were sculpted with some cardboard and shaped with newspaper and masking tape. Once he was shaped, I added strips of newspapers with paper mache paste (w<a href="http://ultimatepapermache.com">ww.ultimatepapermache.com)</a>.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8jxOVKGNYJ8/XHmxKK9IB2I/AAAAAAAAAvo/BkdgCcR28Dg80Ki_uiFEIfMeLv8laQrzACLcBGAs/s1600/mami%2Bphone-august%2B157.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8jxOVKGNYJ8/XHmxKK9IB2I/AAAAAAAAAvo/BkdgCcR28Dg80Ki_uiFEIfMeLv8laQrzACLcBGAs/s200/mami%2Bphone-august%2B157.JPG" width="150" height="200" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dErObjshX24/XHmxKELDtKI/AAAAAAAAAvs/AY5TD8OexGwnCJBTsPCHS2b4sX0-83DAgCLcBGAs/s1600/mami%2Bphone-august%2B158.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dErObjshX24/XHmxKELDtKI/AAAAAAAAAvs/AY5TD8OexGwnCJBTsPCHS2b4sX0-83DAgCLcBGAs/s200/mami%2Bphone-august%2B158.JPG" width="150" height="200" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xuHr6GLphaY/XHmxcyjMx2I/AAAAAAAAAv4/TPgb72MQmN4JZ63nOKDvzxB1LVQTPEdqwCLcBGAs/s1600/mami%2Bphone-august%2B163.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xuHr6GLphaY/XHmxcyjMx2I/AAAAAAAAAv4/TPgb72MQmN4JZ63nOKDvzxB1LVQTPEdqwCLcBGAs/s200/mami%2Bphone-august%2B163.JPG" width="150" height="200" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a></div>
Step 6: Ready for paint. Actually, before painting, I added a coat of gesso.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pbSkKI4j01g/XHmycSylyeI/AAAAAAAAAwM/xh-QHY7p8OEfHZbMwREplKWB2CPs52irgCLcBGAs/s1600/mami%2Bphone-august%2B196.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pbSkKI4j01g/XHmycSylyeI/AAAAAAAAAwM/xh-QHY7p8OEfHZbMwREplKWB2CPs52irgCLcBGAs/s200/mami%2Bphone-august%2B196.JPG" width="150" height="200" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mY-1_o8bF7E/XHmyivMDlkI/AAAAAAAAAwQ/Cqc6YWxflJg7vZ88CGF0K3s96akDoyeUgCLcBGAs/s1600/mami%2Bphone-august%2B218.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mY-1_o8bF7E/XHmyivMDlkI/AAAAAAAAAwQ/Cqc6YWxflJg7vZ88CGF0K3s96akDoyeUgCLcBGAs/s200/mami%2Bphone-august%2B218.JPG" width="150" height="200" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a></div>
"Look away, children!" Dobby looked pretty scare in this phase.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OFqAuA_393I/XHmywrI8MkI/AAAAAAAAAwY/eY6iPu3PExwpSFYkVlg-8iGfd5-qWMl7wCLcBGAs/s1600/August%2Bphotos%2B005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OFqAuA_393I/XHmywrI8MkI/AAAAAAAAAwY/eY6iPu3PExwpSFYkVlg-8iGfd5-qWMl7wCLcBGAs/s200/August%2Bphotos%2B005.JPG" width="150" height="200" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--Cvj8eQHTOo/XHmy3HI15PI/AAAAAAAAAwg/DgWce7G5v1ol9CFF78jhnErPRwCVKfKswCLcBGAs/s1600/mom%2Bphone-sept%2B026.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--Cvj8eQHTOo/XHmy3HI15PI/AAAAAAAAAwg/DgWce7G5v1ol9CFF78jhnErPRwCVKfKswCLcBGAs/s200/mom%2Bphone-sept%2B026.JPG" width="150" height="200" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a></div>
It tooks a few attempts at painting until I was satisfied with how he looked.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3YZNMp5xZis/XHmzGNMHiWI/AAAAAAAAAwo/L5Vcpykvk7M2XGt_FtylOak58pyPWoxHwCLcBGAs/s1600/mom%2Bphone-sept%2B028.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3YZNMp5xZis/XHmzGNMHiWI/AAAAAAAAAwo/L5Vcpykvk7M2XGt_FtylOak58pyPWoxHwCLcBGAs/s200/mom%2Bphone-sept%2B028.JPG" width="150" height="200" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a></div>
Every respectable elf needs to be covered. I added two pieces of linen tied on the top. I handsewn the sides and ta da!
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4YHIMsyn2YU/XHmze1q_2yI/AAAAAAAAAw0/O-jRL2DW5VcvpZ5QBC8cPs42eBWoT7RgACLcBGAs/s1600/mami%2Bphone%2Boct%2B2018%2B258.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4YHIMsyn2YU/XHmze1q_2yI/AAAAAAAAAw0/O-jRL2DW5VcvpZ5QBC8cPs42eBWoT7RgACLcBGAs/s200/mami%2Bphone%2Boct%2B2018%2B258.JPG" width="150" height="200" data-original-width="1196" data-original-height="1600" /></a></div>
Last step: Glue Dobby to a piece of scrap wood. I started this project during the summer (2018) and was made with materials I had on hand. Basically, Dobby was FREE!

Some of those activities include Principal reading to classes, chalk painting, and an evening of magical reading of the Harry Potter, Chamber of Secrets book. I creating some of the props to transform the cafeteria into a magical place. Students will walk thru the 9 3/4 platform and will be greeted by Dobby (the elf). Then, they will be able to take a picture with HP flying car. I also created some magical wands for each of the students. I took my time working on all the projects, especially Dobby. He was created with recycled materials and paper mache. The following pictures are behind the scenes of all our creations:
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-EXkfbb5Yh2M/XHXFmWYUe3I/AAAAAAAAAtY/W4v-UsHARDYmPs_vuugM01LtkLz0mP9NgCLcBGAs/s1600/mami%2Bphone%2Boct%2B2018%2B257.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-EXkfbb5Yh2M/XHXFmWYUe3I/AAAAAAAAAtY/W4v-UsHARDYmPs_vuugM01LtkLz0mP9NgCLcBGAs/s320/mami%2Bphone%2Boct%2B2018%2B257.JPG" width="239" height="320" data-original-width="1196" data-original-height="1600" /></a></div>
Dobby was a labor of love for me. I started creating him during the summer and worked on him slowly. I became so attached to him, I almost didn't want to give him up. lol! I got started after watching a video tutorial (<a href="http://youtube.com">on cruz laporte -youtube</a>) and basically created him using newspapers, plastic soda bottle, and pvc pipe. Since I had everything on hand, he was basically free. I used a paper mache recipe (<a href="http://ultimatepapermache.com">ultimatepapermache.com</a>) to put him together.Dobby is currently collecting new socks to be donated to the <a href="https://www.sandiegocounty.gov/hhsa/programs/cs/child_welfare_services/polinsky_childrens_center.html">polinski center in San Diego</a>

The Harry Potter Book Night theme was book #2 "Chamber of Secrets." This book introduces the flying car Harry and Ron use to get themselves to Hogwarts School. I used an old cardboard box that I had. I was inspired by a photo prop of the flying car in the website <a href="http://santanasstudio.blogspot.com/search?q=harry+potter">www.santanasstudio.blogspot.com</a>

These wands were created with small dowels and a lot of hot glue. I then spray painted them black and added some gold shine. There are many tutorials on the web to help you with creating wands. I followed the tutorial at <a href="https://boxycolonial.com/diy-harry-potter-wands/">boxycolonial.com

I used an old drape and sponged painted the bricks on the fabric. To make the sign, I used an old foam board and painted it. I printed a free 9 3/4 sign from the website: <a href="http://jonesing2create.com">jonesing2create.com </a>

"Write it, already!" shouted my husband as I exclaimed my new writing idea. I didn't realize how annoying I sounded every time I expressed a new idea out loud. It was day 16 of the <a href="http://taralazar.com">30-day writing idea challenge</a> posed by Tara Lazar. I had been proclaiming ideas left and right. My husbands comment stopped me in my tracks. "What good are all these ideas if I never develop them?" I am more determined now to follow through. Writing a picture book has been a life long dream since childhood when I first entered a kids writing contest in 4th grade. No, I didn't win. Forty-plus years later, I'm still dreaming of writing a children's book. Now, I need to focus and set aside all the distractions that keep me from writing (cleaning house, painting, baking, washing clothes,etc).
Wish me luck!

Friday is usually my day off from work. Usually, I spend most of the day cleaning, running errands or being creative (in that order). Although I love my part-time job (ELL IA at local elementary school), I love creating things. I dabble in watercolor, acrylic painting, paper mache, sewing, baking, writing, reading. Well, you get the picture. I like to do it ALL. I believe I am a lifelong learner. Always on the lookout to learn a new skill. Sometimes, I wish I could just master one skill. Instead, "I am a Jack of all trades and a master of none." Kinda sad (insert sad emoji). Anyways, trying and learning new things makes me happy. And that's the point. I create in little bits "here" and "there". Creativity is not always easy to see. For example, I sometimes find myself daydreaming of the little bird chirping outside of my window. "What could he be saying?" "Is he warning his friends of a cat lurking by?" "Or is he shouting God's praises for the beautiful sunny, clear day?" My imagination goes wild. Possibly, an idea for a picture book -wink, wink. Here are some of the things that kept me creative this week:
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-S4aG5q9Q8iI/XEJHSCF1ABI/AAAAAAAAAqg/XVWDpdCDPHkEuR23F03GK5ejxe0v4mBSQCLcBGAs/s1600/mami%2Bphone%2B2019%2B108.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-S4aG5q9Q8iI/XEJHSCF1ABI/AAAAAAAAAqg/XVWDpdCDPHkEuR23F03GK5ejxe0v4mBSQCLcBGAs/s320/mami%2Bphone%2B2019%2B108.JPG" width="240" height="320" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a></div>

For $35.00 per subscription, I receive watercolor paper, paints and instructions on painting 4-5 paintings. The kit also includes a blank watercolor postcard, stamped and addressed to a family/person. The idea of the postcard, "lets make art matter," is to paint for someone who could use a little encouragement. I love this part of the kit. And, don't worry if you don't know what to paint. Sarah, owner of Lets make Art, has videos and lIVE facebook paintings to follow along. I have learned so much and get giddy with excitement every time I see a "lets make art" box on my front door. There are many subcriptions in just about any area of interest. So go ahead, and get creative! Here is a sample of some of my watercolor paintings and "Lets make art matter" postcards:

It is one of my favorite family traditions that we have. We recycle old Christmas cards where we write what we would love to accomplish for the year. We then place them in a Christmas box and store until the following year. It is always exciting to see what we have accomplished or what prayers the Lord has answered. Sometimes, I am disappointed that I didn't accomplish certain goals (i.e. loose weight, haha). However, I usually carry-on goals to the new year in hopes of finally accomplishing them (i.e. lost 25 lbs in 2016-woohoo!) Last year, one of my goals was to participate in <a href="http://taralazar.com">Tara Lazar's Storystorm</a> 30-day writing idea challenge and submit a picture book manuscript. I started the challenge, but only wrote 2-weeks worth of ideas, insert sad face. But, because I don't give up that easy, I am participating in the challenge once again. I'm happy to report, I have one full week of writing story ideas.

Created postcards and mailed to a few people for some encouragement. Hopefully, the recipients loved the snail mail surprise. Planning on organizing some more "Postcards with Love" workshops.

Getting ready to host a small watercolor class for the ladies in our summer book club. We read and discussed "A Lineage of Grace" by Francine Rivers. Wonderful historical fiction of women in the bible- a must read!

Lately, I've been enjoying watercoloring on my mixed media journal. It's a planner I recycled into a painting journal. Aliciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04011720838158759385noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9189688855874417309.post-14200793005392700852018-08-15T15:57:00.000-07:002018-08-15T16:02:23.437-07:00JUST DO IT! Be CreativeSometimes getting started is the hardest thing to do. There is always something pressing that needs your attention, such as the dishes, laundry, planning of meals (which I never do), catching-up on TV shows- well you get the point. There are also the distractions of Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook that keep us from fulfilling our daily to-do list. I believe it is important to unplug and remove the distractions. I'm sure you believe it too, the question is "do you do it?" "Not enough!" is my response. For me, it is important that I spend some time with God. It usually is in the form of a devotional and prayer every morning. I ask God to give me the strength I need to get thru my day and the ability to carve out some creative time. Lately, I have been taking an online <a href="http://www.onlinecardclasses.com">"simply watercolor"</a> class and a "<a href="http://www.pzazzonline.com/">lettering class</a>" (Whatever Lettering). Taking these classes have helped me improve my painting and lettering, but most importantly it has improved my state of mind- YES-I feel more relaxed! So go ahead and remove the distraction and set some time to be creative -"JUST DO IT!" Here is what I have been up to:

Creativity for me comes in many different ways. Such as baking bread. It is simple and yet so satisfying. I feel relaxed, happy and usually stress free (unless I'm baking for Thanksgiving and I want perfection, yikes!). As a self-taught stuffie maker, I am very hard on myself. I see so many imperfections in my creations, that it takes a long time for me to share or give away. It is one of the reasons why I don't like to sell my creations. All my little bears are made with love and prayer and usually given to someone I know. Not sure who will get this bear, but I'm really loving the outfit. I have another February bear that I hope to post soon that will go to a very special baby. One of these days, I might auction them to raise money for the <a href="http://www.sharonsride.org/goto/cassandra">Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego.

Every Year for the past six years, our family has participated in the Sharon's Ride.run.walk 5k. We participate to bring awareness to epilepsy, raise funds, and hopefully bring a cure to epilepsy. Our daughter, Cassandra, suffers from this seizure disorder and anything we can do to help, gives us a little peace of mind.
You can join our team <a href="http://www.sharonsride.org/goto/cassandra">"Cassandra's Kisses"</a> and enjoy great family/friend time at beautiful Mission Bay in San Diego.
Baking cookies is another way I help to bring in some donations. Its my "sweet" contribution.

Let the baking begin!

Baking sweet bread is easy and delicious! Conchitas are Mexican sweet breads that have a sugary top. You can find them in any Mexican bakery shop or you can make them yourself- which is what I did. I followed the recipe <a href="http://www.sprinklebakes.com/2015/04/mexican-sweet-buns-conchas.html">(Mexican sweet buns)</a> from <a href="http://www.sprinklebakes.com">sprinklebakes.com</a>. Go and give it a try. Yummy!

I have been having a great time creating these little bears. My goal is to create at least one bear each month. I have become better at sewing through the years (I'm a self-taught sewer) but nowhere near perfect. My best friend is the "seam ripper", haha. I also take advantage of all the wonderful online tutorials and patterns as well as classes (<a href="http://www.craftsy.com">CRAFTSY</a>), and follow many wonderful blogs. This is my feeble attempt at writing a tutorial:
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mvo95HidodU/WHalaRDzglI/AAAAAAAAAhc/-92PWGOtDBM1AAtXcORnR_-oh7j40yYvACLcB/s1600/IMG_0455.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mvo95HidodU/WHalaRDzglI/AAAAAAAAAhc/-92PWGOtDBM1AAtXcORnR_-oh7j40yYvACLcB/s200/IMG_0455.JPG" width="150" height="200" /></a></div>
Last year I purchased Kid giddys doll die cut to use with my Big Shot. I love it! I can cut patterns out quickly. I use the <a href="http://www.sizzix.com">sizzix doll die </a>to create the body, arms and legs. I like my bear to have a different size head, so I use a pattern I got from taking <a href="http://shinyhappyworld.com">Wendi Gratz</a> woodland critters class through <a href="http://www.craftsy.com">Craftsy</a>. I cut two of each. I also cut out bear snout, nose, and ears using the woodland critters pattern (or freehand them). Every bear needs to have a heart and label (my label includes my favorite verse- Jeremiah 29:11).
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-E537IAeFYbQ/WHaoqlcwYzI/AAAAAAAAAh0/NFb_Ew4n-hs-fhkv4TTRGmkMWzbHcYyEgCLcB/s1600/IMG_0377.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-E537IAeFYbQ/WHaoqlcwYzI/AAAAAAAAAh0/NFb_Ew4n-hs-fhkv4TTRGmkMWzbHcYyEgCLcB/s200/IMG_0377.JPG" width="200" height="200" /></a></div>
These bears are cut and ready to be sewn.
I like to first sew arms, legs and ears. I stuff them lightly and set them aside.
Then, sew the front head to the front body (set aside)and sew the back of head to back of body. All my bodies have a heart in the front and label in the back. You can sew the heart and label or use strong fusible web and iron it on.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Wcj4KrBg2RU/WHauCA_P3uI/AAAAAAAAAic/YPtapOOLnE4ywlaOSyuj3ibXx2-jLVEAwCLcB/s1600/IMG_0465.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Wcj4KrBg2RU/WHauCA_P3uI/AAAAAAAAAic/YPtapOOLnE4ywlaOSyuj3ibXx2-jLVEAwCLcB/s200/IMG_0465.JPG" width="200" height="150" /></a></div>
Next, sew felt eyes and nose to front of head. You can also embroider eyes or use safety eyes. I purchased some safety eyes for my January bear and found that I really liked how they looked. I used felt for the eyes on the mouse. Then, stitch or embroider the mouth. Sew ears to front of head. To assemble, attach the arms to the front of the body.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-piffcRDq5dg/WHavt3i7ZdI/AAAAAAAAAiw/pLza6Byol2cH_DpljMkR4ZmrH5dg2_TGQCLcB/s1600/IMG_0467.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-piffcRDq5dg/WHavt3i7ZdI/AAAAAAAAAiw/pLza6Byol2cH_DpljMkR4ZmrH5dg2_TGQCLcB/s200/IMG_0467.JPG" width="150" height="200" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-otZeOzfCvvQ/WHavtxMCM7I/AAAAAAAAAis/Q766HGliii8fstzwbyFHXcJrRYCz2V37ACLcB/s1600/IMG_0468.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-otZeOzfCvvQ/WHavtxMCM7I/AAAAAAAAAis/Q766HGliii8fstzwbyFHXcJrRYCz2V37ACLcB/s200/IMG_0468.JPG" width="150" height="200" /></a></div>
Put right sides together making sure to put arms and ears in the inside. Pin all around to secure everything in place.
Sew around and leave the bottom open for turning inside out.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aU7XOrrYA-s/WHaxOnq_VRI/AAAAAAAAAjI/WMMv72X3ZhMV3SABiSYXnUtQPwxUNGdcwCLcB/s1600/IMG_0469.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aU7XOrrYA-s/WHaxOnq_VRI/AAAAAAAAAjI/WMMv72X3ZhMV3SABiSYXnUtQPwxUNGdcwCLcB/s200/IMG_0469.JPG" width="200" height="150" /></a></div>
This is ready to sew all around body (leave opening on the bottom). The last thing to do is to turn it right side out and stuff it. Attach the legs to the bottom of body and sew it close. (Sorry, don't have a picture of that). Check out <a href="http://www.youtube.com">Kid Giddy's youtube</a> channel to learn how to create a doll. You might also check out <a href="http://www.craftygeminicreates.com">Crafty Gemini Creates </a>youtube channel for a great tutorial on sewing a sizzix doll.
Voila! My January bear. I gave her a scarf and hat to keep her warm. Now, I need to find her an owner.

So you're probably wondering what happened to challenge #1? Well, I'll get to that in a moment. But first, one of my goals for 2017 is to challenge myself with many different projects. Hopefully, they will increase my creative skills, but most importantly, I will be able to bless others with my creations. Challenge #2 is creating a quilt. I have always wanted to create a quilt, but didn't think I had the patience for it. Wendi Gratz of <a href="http://www.shinyhappyworld.com">Shiny Happy World </a>has a quilt-as-you-go method that is easier and faster than your traditional quilting. She is offering a <a href="http://shiny-happy-world.teachable.com">FREE quilting class</a> that you can follow along. Hopefully, I will posts what I learn.
Challenge #1 is a writing challenge. I have always wanted to write children's books, but can't seem to make the time for it. Well, considering this is a year of challenges, I am participating in <a href="http://taralazar.com">Tara Lazar's storystorm</a> challenge by writing story ideas for the month of January. So far, I have kept it up. Here is a sneak peak at my writing journal:
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4gWkmmbSOBA/WHV03DD0TEI/AAAAAAAAAgI/kaZ7CLklHpwjS9SHYCKaHrtSXYT9UluTwCEw/s1600/IMG_0715.MOV" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4gWkmmbSOBA/WHV03DD0TEI/AAAAAAAAAgI/kaZ7CLklHpwjS9SHYCKaHrtSXYT9UluTwCEw/s200/IMG_0715.MOV" width="200" height="150" /></a></div>

Some of these bears have found a home and some are waiting to be in the arms of some little boy or girl. I've been experimenting with the size and I think I found the dimensions I like. I'm using a combination of <a href="http://www.sizzix.com">Sizzix kidgiddy doll die </a>for body arms and legs and wendi Gratz <a href="http://www.shinyhappyworld.com">(shinyhappyworld.com)</a> patterns for bear head. I also tried making a mouse, but didn't love it as much. I will write a short tutorial with links to how I make my bears (coming soon).

One of my goals this year is to finish and publish my picture book. I am starting by challenging myself to write 30 days of ideas and hopefully, expand on them throughout the year. Check out www.taralazar.com website for more information or to join in the fun!

This was my first project I made using stampin up designer paper and the "Got Treats" stamp set. I made a little gift for my friends "tween" daughter who wanted cash as a gift. I thought a little chocolate would also work well.Aliciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04011720838158759385noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9189688855874417309.post-42232741761306115052012-10-30T13:49:00.000-07:002012-10-30T13:50:27.853-07:00Onesie dress tutorial<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fX6VhAXwsIE/UJA595rcHNI/AAAAAAAAAUQ/mOKijBUCTYc/s1600/105_6135.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="240" width="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fX6VhAXwsIE/UJA595rcHNI/AAAAAAAAAUQ/mOKijBUCTYc/s320/105_6135.JPG" /></a></div>
First measure the width of the onesie and double the size to get your waistband for width and I made my length by 4 inches. Mark a light pencil mark across the onesie.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bpYT2NWIYKo/UJA5-QLQp8I/AAAAAAAAAUc/s510PMjejLw/s1600/105_6136.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="240" width="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bpYT2NWIYKo/UJA5-QLQp8I/AAAAAAAAAUc/s510PMjejLw/s320/105_6136.JPG" /></a></div>
Fold in half and sew. This will be your waist band. Now cut a rectangle of either same fabric or coordinating fabric. Use the length of your fabric (about 42" by however long you like your dress. I made my to cover the bottom of the onesie.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Bzg6vc18MOA/UJA6OalGxLI/AAAAAAAAAUo/vIbk9sYVX6s/s1600/105_6137.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="240" width="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Bzg6vc18MOA/UJA6OalGxLI/AAAAAAAAAUo/vIbk9sYVX6s/s320/105_6137.JPG" /></a></div>
Baste stitch your rectancle. Pull the string to create a ruffle.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cMYLQYRrFJ4/UJA6PGDKWkI/AAAAAAAAAU0/htVz0yaJWp8/s1600/105_6138.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="240" width="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cMYLQYRrFJ4/UJA6PGDKWkI/AAAAAAAAAU0/htVz0yaJWp8/s320/105_6138.JPG" /></a></div>
Pin rectangle to waist strip and sew. Attach dress skirt to onesie (pin on the line you marked)and sew. This is not a very thorough tutorial, so please visit www.love-2-create-blogspot.com for specific instructions. They have a great tutorial for this dress.

I made my niece a blanket for her AG doll and some sandals for my other nieces' doll. I also made some stockings for my daughters doll.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HlGqJ07fb6U/T_-oJyJOZyI/AAAAAAAAASM/fI18-s1ACz4/s1600/100_5980.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="240" width="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HlGqJ07fb6U/T_-oJyJOZyI/AAAAAAAAASM/fI18-s1ACz4/s320/100_5980.JPG" /></a></div>
Blanket was made using a fat quarter fabric. I used a fat quarter with minky fabric.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-u8TFyjLXgDk/T_-oUJtvOII/AAAAAAAAASY/jM6DTipe9eU/s1600/100_5987.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="240" width="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-u8TFyjLXgDk/T_-oUJtvOII/AAAAAAAAASY/jM6DTipe9eU/s320/100_5987.JPG" /></a></div>
The sandals were very easy to make. I used black foam and stickers. I couldn't find the link to the video tutorial. Just google fave crafts youtube videos on american girl sandals and you will find a tutorial.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-l82y7lZ0BZE/T_-ogZ-A-OI/AAAAAAAAASk/_OA0-d1MTvA/s1600/100_5985.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="240" width="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-l82y7lZ0BZE/T_-ogZ-A-OI/AAAAAAAAASk/_OA0-d1MTvA/s320/100_5985.JPG" /></a></div>
The stockings were the easiest to make. I used one of my daughters old soccer socks.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Vm524eXAGKw/T_-oyL7H0oI/AAAAAAAAASw/vKJarp_K0so/s1600/100_5981.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="240" width="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Vm524eXAGKw/T_-oyL7H0oI/AAAAAAAAASw/vKJarp_K0so/s320/100_5981.JPG" /></a></div>
Cut the bottom of the sock off and cut through the center of the sock.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2sLRjxTTUh4/T_-pGqgPtXI/AAAAAAAAAS8/C2i8tmwZH04/s1600/100_5982.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="240" width="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2sLRjxTTUh4/T_-pGqgPtXI/AAAAAAAAAS8/C2i8tmwZH04/s320/100_5982.JPG" /></a></div>
Sew through the bottom of feet and continue sewing until you reach the other side. Turn over and "voila" stockings for your doll.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wLiUKs1umAg/T_-pOKe4diI/AAAAAAAAATI/xNST4SH342E/s1600/100_5983.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="240" width="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wLiUKs1umAg/T_-pOKe4diI/AAAAAAAAATI/xNST4SH342E/s320/100_5983.JPG" /></a></div>Aliciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04011720838158759385noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9189688855874417309.post-32056379394916001822012-05-15T13:22:00.002-07:002012-05-15T13:29:30.246-07:00Silhouettes - Tutorial<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-k86HauhxGws/T7KSHNN-7OI/AAAAAAAAAQ8/jMXYLIemAeE/s1600/101_0491.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-k86HauhxGws/T7KSHNN-7OI/AAAAAAAAAQ8/jMXYLIemAeE/s320/101_0491.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
I finally had a chance to make silhouettes of my children. I had the perfect spot too - right above my bed. I love looking at my girls when I walk into the room. Making the silhouettes was easy. You just need a camera, children, black cardstock paper, canvas, black paint (optional) and background paper (I used an inexpensive bible). <br />
<br />
First, take pictures of your child, print out, trace and cut out of black cardstock paper.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-F38Le1gXrs8/T7KyWS-QK4I/AAAAAAAAARQ/3eQOKQgYpgU/s1600/101_0483.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-F38Le1gXrs8/T7KyWS-QK4I/AAAAAAAAARQ/3eQOKQgYpgU/s320/101_0483.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OhKyAhSgCjA/T7KTUwBs15I/AAAAAAAAARE/egfKREmpFxo/s1600/101_0484.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OhKyAhSgCjA/T7KTUwBs15I/AAAAAAAAARE/egfKREmpFxo/s320/101_0484.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Next, decoupage your background pages onto the canvas. You can use scrapbooking paper, book pages or just paint the background. I wanted to use our favorite bible pages so we used the book of Psalms, John, Ephesians, Galatians and Corinthians. </div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-r4ap872JsqE/T7K0CHZdL5I/AAAAAAAAARY/av5EsH9o6z8/s1600/101_0486.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-r4ap872JsqE/T7K0CHZdL5I/AAAAAAAAARY/av5EsH9o6z8/s320/101_0486.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<strong><em>Note:</em></strong> <em>At first, it was difficult tearing up the pages of the bible. Once I convinced myself it was for a good cause, it wasn't so bad.</em> </div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br />
Lastly, glue everything down. The hardest part was trying to get rid of bubbles on the silhouettes. I used a different cardstock paper that I found at walmart and I had a hard time getting rid of the bubbles. Not sure if it was me or the paper. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Overall, I loved the way it turned out. My wall definetely needed a little something something to make it look pretty. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rR6eb9NRJoE/T5G8hJicMJI/AAAAAAAAAQM/MZcqCbqxvR8/s1600/DSCN3566.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rR6eb9NRJoE/T5G8hJicMJI/AAAAAAAAAQM/MZcqCbqxvR8/s320/DSCN3566.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
In honor of Earth day, I recycled popsicle sticks into fancy bracelets. I will be making this project with my girl scout troop soon. I got the directions<a href="http://www.craftaffection.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"> here</a> . Easy and fun!<br />
<br />
First, soak the popsicle sticks in water (at least 24 hrs). <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-AX2Y3jSmwCY/T5G-W1B2WqI/AAAAAAAAAQc/lmh8TDu62HY/s1600/DSCN3562.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-AX2Y3jSmwCY/T5G-W1B2WqI/AAAAAAAAAQc/lmh8TDu62HY/s320/DSCN3562.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-R7UkpSe-rHA/T5G-cqJsvII/AAAAAAAAAQk/NjrdUTs0ARE/s320/DSCN3558.JPG" width="320" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Then, carefully bend the sticks and place in a cup (I also used a water bottle). Let the popsicle stick dry overnight.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2f17VO7PQ8Q/T5G_GbEhZ-I/AAAAAAAAAQs/OVw6EKXUQJU/s1600/DSCN3560.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2f17VO7PQ8Q/T5G_GbEhZ-I/AAAAAAAAAQs/OVw6EKXUQJU/s320/DSCN3560.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Paint, decoupage with scrapbooking papers or just add sparkle and you are done!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pc7Zt1cfm7I/T5G_inU0f2I/AAAAAAAAAQ0/HPv15yOstII/s1600/DSCN3569.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pc7Zt1cfm7I/T5G_inU0f2I/AAAAAAAAAQ0/HPv15yOstII/s320/DSCN3569.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br />You can also add letters and write a message or put your initials. The possibilities are endless! This project did not cost me a cent since I already had all the supplies (my husband would appreciate that!).</div>Aliciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04011720838158759385noreply@blogger.com4
